Recently, the 6th graders in Mrs. Gregory’s class did an art project for the Empty Bowls Foundation, an organization that helps fight hunger. They were asked to make bowls for kids who don’t have a lot of food. Inside each bowl there is a special stamp chosen by the students. Mrs. Gregory wanted to teach students that art can be used for social causes like ending hunger.
During, parent teacher conferences, Mrs. Gregory will be selling the bowls for a dollar in the teacher’s lounge. The Tempe Empty Bowls Festival will sell them for ten dollars. All of the money will go to the Empty Bowls Foundation.
The 6th grade students were thrilled with how the bowls turned out. Remember the bowls will be sold in the teacher’s lounge during parent teacher conferences!
