On Friday, August 28th, a Back-to-School Dance was held at GMS. The dance took place in the gym and 337 students came. The dance was a great chance for people to let loose and hang out with their friends.
According to Mr. Gonzales, the DJ, the song that had the biggest and best response was “Watch Me” by Silento. Most people reported students having great attitudes and that they were having fun. Students that were taking a break outside, where they could buy snacks and water, said that it was fun and that it was a great time to be together with friends. Particularly 7th grade student Ruben G. who said that it was good that we are able to go outside.
Mr. Gonzales also said that it’s been the biggest dance he has seen. Being the DJ, his personal favorite song is the “Cupid Shuffle” because it’s easy to pick up and everyone likes to join in. He has also said that it was a big turn out and was very successful. It was very lively and fun.
Many students got Kona Ice after the dance. Kona Ice helps fundraise for the school, and will be at outdoor school functions. Many students bought it, the cost is between $3-$6. Overall, the dance was a great experience for students!
